What should I expect to pay for parts and labor on replacing a starter on a 1988 Nissan Pulsar NX SE?

The quote was for 270 for the labor is that reasonable.

The starter price is about normal for a shop with a markup. That labor rate however is out of this world high. Even on harder cars, any decent mechanic can replace a starter in under an hour. What’s the going hourerly rate in your area? For higher end shops here it’s about $80 an hour. That equals to no more than $80 labor.
